Yoga & Meditation through a trauma informed, SEL lens. Group sessions in a safe and encouraging environment offer participants the opportunity to learn how thoughts affect emotions and how emotions affect behaviors.
Art provides an outlet for children as a means of expressing what they cannot communicate verbally through drawing, painting, poetry, etc. In addition to our daily programming, we have a local artist come and do an art project with our youth participants.
We learn very early how important healthy eating is to our bodies. Our goal is to offer healthier food choices so participants can feel their best because when we feel better, we usually do better.
Gardening provides many benefits to youth, from team building opportunities to promoting communication.
Planning a garden and planting the seeds or seedlings provides children with a sense of responsibility and purpose. Caring for the plants by watering, feeding, and ensuring they get enough sunlight fosters mindfulness.
E1T1 offers several types of trainings and workshops
Danica began her yoga practice in 2008. After the first breathing exercise, she realized that she found a sense of peace, calm and self-acceptance that she had never experienced before. It became her mission to share this feeling and experience with as many people as possible. Over the past fifteen years, Danica has studied yoga, meditation, breath work, kundalini, and many other wellness practices. She has been featured on the local WDVM news and featured in the Frederick magazine. She is the Founder & Executive Director of Each 1 Teach 1, Inc. a local non-profit organization. Their Mission if to "help youth identify their emotions and effectively communicate their needs." She leads yoga and mindful sessions for adults at Yogamour Healing Arts Center in Frederick, MD. She also leads class with youth and families through her organization and various partnerships and collaborations.
